Le Mans, France – Less than two hours remain in the running of the 2010 24 hours of Le Mans, the final Team Oreca Matmut Peugeot 908 HDi FAP engine has given up it’s engine, in the same fiery death as the previous Peugeot. The Matmut team looks inconsolable on the pit wall as their dreams of passing the no. 7 Audi R15 currently driven by Dindo Capello, and making a podium finish. The Peugeot’s were very fast all week, taking the front two rows during qualifying. The Peugeot’s ran the perfect race up until their engines expired. In contrast the Audi R15s have had minimal problems with reliability. The 24 hours of Le Mans, has been turned from a distance paced race, to a 24 hour sprint race in the last few years. Although the Audi R15s have not been as fast all weekend, their reliability has allowed them to set their own pace.
