BRAESELTON, Ga — With three hours clicked off the clock, you can forget about the who-ha around qualifying — it appears that this race will be a deogfight to the end with the Peugeot and Audi teams trading the lead back and forth with regularity. While the Peugeots have shown zoomy speed, the Audis have been tenacious in attacking their French competition.
Allan McNish took the No. 7 Audi to the front of the class for the first two hours of the race, leading at the end of hours one and two. At the end of hour three it was Anthony Davidson with a four second lead over the Audi. The No. 9 Audi has dropped off the pace with a mechanical issue but is still in the race.
In LMP2 it is the HPD Acura comfortably out front with the Mazada in second and the Muscle Milk Porsche off the pace in third place. In GT2 the No. 4 Corvette holds down the lead and the top five cars are on the same lap.
