As the French Tri-Color drops, the longest sprint race has started: 2011 24 Hours of Le Mans

Start of 2011 24 Hours of Le Man

3:00 PM Le Mans, France, the FIA President Jean Todt dropped the French Tri-Color to start the 79th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Both Audi R18 and Peugeot 908’s are off at a blistering race pace, which looks to be much faster than the petrol powered P1 prototypes. R18 # driven by Benoit Treluyer is currently leading the race, with Timo Bernhard in the #1 Audi R18 in second. The #7 and #9 Peugeot 908’s chase close behind to the Audi R18s with #3 Audi R18 driven by Allan McNish chasing them down
