Peugeot top qualifier

Anthony Davidson and the Peugeot took top time in qualifying.

BRASELTON, Ga — If qualifying is any view into the results of the race, then the race here at Road Atlanta will be an absolute dog fight.

The Peugeot of Anthony Davidson (with Sébastien Bourdais and Simon Pagenaud) zoomed around the track for the pole position with a 1:07.428 (135.611 mph) lap — but it was only the blink of an eye (0.128 seconds) faster than the Audi Sport Team Joest of Timo Bernhard (with Romain Dumas and Marcel Fassler). Bernhard turned a lap of 1:07.556 (135.354 mph) in the Audi R18. Third fastest was a Peugeot and the second Audi was fourth.
